When the roads are bad due to ice or snow, the library may be closed. You can call, 316-321-3363, check the webpage, or the library’s Facebook page. Also, check the local TV stations for closings. We will make every effort to get the word out that we are closed. When in doubt, find out. Save yourself a trip! We want our patrons and staff safe at home when bad weather makes travel dangerous.
We now have “Ask,” “Click,” and “Muse” magazines! “Ask” is art and science for kids, ages 6-9. “Click,” for kids 3-6 years, is about art, science, nature and the environment. “Muse” is science and the arts for kids 9-14 years old.
These three magazines are a great addition to our periodicals collection. Come in and look them over! You can check out back issues for two weeks.
We have a new magazine in our collection! It is called “babybug” and, as the name implies, it is for babies and toddlers. The small format and thicker pages are just right for little hands. At the back of the magazine is a caregiver’s guide explaining the concepts introduced in the stories and poems. I will be sharing it at Baby Time and Toddler Time, later this month!
Current issues of magazines cannot be checked out, but back issues can be checked out for two weeks.
There will be no children’s programming for the rest of 2016. Programming will resume on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 with a Make and Take Craft Day. Preschool Story Time will resume Thursday, January 19. Baby Time and Toddler Time will resume Friday, January 20th.
Check the event calendar for scheduled programs.
Please come in a see us during the break! We will miss you!
